Preface

The letters collected in this book are selections from the correspondence between Qi Zhijun, a Heart Esotericism empowerment master, and Master Yuanyin, the third patriarch of Heart Esotericism. Their contents essentially trace Teacher Qi Zhijun’s entire journey from seeking the Heart Esotericism Dharma to realizing the Way. At every step are the traces of Master Yuanyin’s guidance and teachings. The proposed title, The Mind-Seal Journey, thus subtly accords with the supreme esoteric meaning of the Heart-of-Heart Dharma: mind sealing mind.

This book is not for general circulation. Reasons for preserving it are: first, Teacher Qi’s spirit in realizing the Way can inspire in us unsurpassable diligence and courageous vigor; second, Master Yuanyin’s splendid teachings can enable us to practice in accordance with the Dharma until we reach the other shore. Reading it often will increase blessings and wisdom and fill one with Dharma joy.

Namo Gurubhya, Namo Buddhaya, Namo Dharmaya, Namo Sanghaya!

May I swiftly open wisdom and attain Buddhahood in this life, liberate sentient beings, and seek no other fruition!
